Digital Account Manager- Ecommerce
Digital Account Manager – Ecommerce
Remote | Ideally Northern Ireland based
Full-time | Permanent
Whytematter are delighted to be working with a growing specialist ecommerce and digital business to recruit an experienced Digital Account Manager.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a strong digital background who enjoys building client relationships but also wants to become much more commercially involved in the full ecommerce journey.
Rather than simply managing campaigns and reporting back to clients, you'll work closely with ecommerce brands to understand their business, identify opportunities for growth and help coordinate activity across digital marketing, ecommerce, website optimisation, email/CRM, paid media and promotions.
The business operates remotely, offering excellent flexibility and autonomy. Ideally, you'll be based in Northern Ireland to allow for occasional client meetings and team get-togethers.
The Role
As Digital Account Manager, you'll be a key point of contact for a portfolio of ecommerce clients, developing strong relationships and ensuring activity remains aligned with their wider commercial objectives.
You'll work closely with experienced ecommerce, performance marketing, content and technical specialists to turn client strategies into clear actions and measurable results.
This is a role for someone who can look beyond individual digital channels and understand how website performance, traffic, conversion, retention, promotions and customer acquisition all work together to drive ecommerce growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day relationships across a portfolio of ecommerce clients
Build strong relationships with clients and become a trusted digital/ecommerce partner
Understand each client's business, products, customers and commercial objectives
Coordinate ecommerce and digital marketing activity across multiple channels
Help develop and manage ecommerce marketing calendars
Coordinate campaigns, promotions, website updates and product activity
Work closely with paid media specialists across Google, Meta and other performance channels
Support email marketing and CRM activity, including campaigns and automated customer journeys
Monitor website and ecommerce performance, identifying opportunities to improve conversion and customer experience
Work with internal and external specialists across creative, development, content and performance marketing
Review digital performance and translate data into clear, practical recommendations
Monitor key ecommerce metrics including revenue, conversion, customer acquisition, ROAS and overall commercial performance
Prepare and present client reports, updates and recommendations
Keep projects moving, ensuring actions and deadlines are clearly communicated and delivered
Proactively identify opportunities to grow and develop client accounts
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have experience in digital account management, ecommerce, digital marketing or client services, preferably within an agency, ecommerce consultancy or fast-paced digital environment.
You'll be commercially minded, highly organised and confident managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
We'd particularly love to speak with someone who has experience or knowledge across areas such as:
Ecommerce / online retail
Digital marketing strategy
Shopify or other ecommerce platforms
Paid media / performance marketing
Email marketing / CRM
Website management
Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)
Digital analytics and reporting
Campaign and promotional planning
You don't necessarily need to be the hands-on specialist in every channel. What's more important is having a strong understanding of digital and ecommerce, knowing the right questions to ask and being able to bring clients and specialists together to deliver results.
The Person
You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with clients and takes ownership of their accounts.
You'll be comfortable discussing performance and challenging clients where appropriate, rather than simply taking briefs and passing them to another team.
You'll also have a commercial mindset. This business is focused on helping ecommerce brands achieve sustainable, profitable growth, so you'll naturally be interested in the numbers behind the marketing — what's generating revenue, what's converting and where the next opportunity lies.
Why Consider This Role?
This is an opportunity to join a small but growing specialist ecommerce team where you'll have genuine visibility and influence.
You'll benefit from:
Remote-first working
Excellent flexibility and autonomy
Ideally NI based, with occasional meetings/team get-togethers
A close-knit and highly experienced ecommerce team
Exposure to a varied portfolio of consumer and retail brands
Direct relationships with business owners and senior decision-makers
Exposure to much more than traditional account management
Experience across ecommerce strategy, CRO, CRM, Shopify, paid media and commercial performance
The opportunity to develop your knowledge of the commercial side of ecommerce
Genuine opportunity to grow alongside the business
This would particularly suit someone currently working within a digital agency who enjoys the client side of their role but wants broader exposure to ecommerce strategy and commercial decision-making.
