Social Media Executive / Social Media Strategist
Paid, Organic & Social Strategy
Belfast | Hybrid | Full-Time, Permanent
We’re delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an award-winning integrated creative agency in Belfast as they continue to grow their team.
They’re looking for a talented Social Media Executive / Social Media Strategist who can bring together smart strategic thinking, fresh creative ideas and strong hands-on delivery across a varied portfolio of client accounts.
Working as part of the Client Services team, you’ll collaborate closely with Account Management, Content, Creative and Digital colleagues, bringing specialist social expertise into client projects wherever it can add value.
This definitely isn’t a role that’s simply about scheduling posts. You’ll help shape social strategy, identify opportunities, contribute creative ideas, write and brief content, support clients and understand how paid and organic social work together to deliver measurable results.
The Role
Social Strategy & Ideas
You’ll help develop practical social strategies and channel plans that align with each client’s audience, objectives and wider marketing activity.
You’ll also:
Bring proactive platform, content and campaign ideas into account planning, creative sessions and client meetings.
Identify cultural moments, trends, formats and behaviours that brands can use in a relevant and credible way.
Adapt your thinking across different sectors, audiences, tones of voice and commercial objectives.
Bring a strategic mindset to social rather than viewing channels in isolation.
Organic Social
You’ll take an active role in planning and delivering organic social activity across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok.
This will include:
Planning and managing social content calendars.
Writing clear, engaging social copy.
Turning strategic and creative ideas into useful briefs for designers, videographers and content creators.
Publishing and scheduling content accurately, following platform best practice around format, timing, tagging and community engagement.
Reviewing organic performance, identifying what’s working and recommending how future content should evolve.
Paid Social
You’ll also support the planning, set-up and day-to-day optimisation of paid social campaigns, particularly across Meta and LinkedIn.
You’ll:
Understand campaign objectives, audiences, budgets, placements, creative testing and conversion journeys.
Monitor key measures including reach, engagement, CTR, CPC, CPA and ROAS.
Work with senior colleagues on optimisation and budget decisions.
Connect paid performance back to the creative, making recommendations around messaging, formats, audiences and next steps.
Account & Campaign Support
This role offers plenty of variety. Rather than focusing on one account, you’ll work across a broad client portfolio, joining different projects where your social expertise can make the biggest impact.
You’ll:
Support Account Managers across discovery, planning, client presentations, campaign delivery and reporting.
Develop positive working relationships with clients.
Communicate ideas, results and recommended actions clearly and confidently.
Keep activity organised, on time and within agreed scope.
Identify and flag potential risks or changes early.
Creative Collaboration & Content
Creativity is a big part of this position.
You’ll work alongside Creative and Content teams to develop platform-first ideas, rather than simply taking existing creative and repurposing it for social.
This could include:
Contributing to content and campaign concepts.
Supporting shoot planning and content capture.
Developing shot lists, hooks, scripts and captions.
Providing constructive feedback on social creative.
Championing content that feels distinctive, relevant and designed to capture attention.
Sharing useful platform developments, trends and emerging best practice with the wider team.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
You’ll use data and insights from both organic and paid activity to help shape future strategy and creative decisions.
You’ll:
Prepare concise and accurate reports that explain what happened, why it matters and what should happen next.
Use insights from paid and organic performance to improve future strategy, creative and channel choices.
Maintain high standards across tracking, naming conventions, approvals, quality checks and client communication.
What We’re Looking For
Ideally, you’ll have:
Around 2–4 years' experience within social media, digital marketing or an agency account role with significant social media responsibility.
Strong practical knowledge of both organic and paid social.
Hands-on experience with Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager.
A strategic mindset and the ability to connect social activity with wider brand, audience and business objectives.
Strong creative instincts and the confidence to contribute ideas during brainstorms, briefs and client conversations.
Excellent copywriting skills and a strong eye for detail.
A good understanding of how tone of voice changes depending on platform and audience.
Confidence interpreting performance data and turning it into practical recommendations.
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to move between multiple accounts and priorities without compromising quality.
A collaborative, proactive and curious approach.
The confidence to challenge ideas constructively when you see an opportunity to make the work stronger.
The original brief specifically looks for approximately 2–4 years' experience and someone who understands both organic and paid social rather than specialising exclusively in one area.
It Would Be an Advantage If You Have
Previous experience within an integrated creative or digital agency.
Hands-on experience with LinkedIn Ads, TikTok Ads or social listening.
Experience developing short-form video concepts.
Experience supporting content shoots.
Influencer marketing or community management experience.
Working knowledge of Google Ads, GA4, website conversion tracking or wider digital campaign reporting.
What Success Looks Like
You'll become someone the wider Account and Creative teams actively seek out because your input makes the work stronger.
Success in the role will mean:
Clients receive proactive and relevant social ideas rather than repetitive content calendars.
Paid and organic activity is well planned, accurately delivered and continually improved.
Reporting leads to clear actions and decisions.
Campaign activity demonstrates measurable progress against agreed objectives.
You can confidently move between different accounts while maintaining organisation, quality and attention to detail.
What You Can Expect
Alongside joining a busy and creative agency environment, you’ll receive:
32 days' annual leave
Hybrid working – work from home Wednesdays and Fridays
4:30pm finish every day
Free parking
On-site canteen and gym
Company pension
Private medical and dental cover
Sick pay
Regular team days and conferences
Learning and development opportunities
Annual KPI-based salary reviews
Performance bonus
The hybrid arrangement and wider benefits are confirmed in the original brief, including home working on Wednesdays and Fridays, 4:30pm finishes, 32 days' leave, private medical and dental cover and performance-related benefits.
Location: Belfast / Hybrid
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
If you’re passionate about social media but want a role where you can get involved in strategy, creative, paid campaigns, content and client work rather than simply managing a posting schedule, we’d love to hear from you.
