We are delighted to be working with a well known Accountancy Practice in Bangor, Co.Down in the search for a VAT & Bookkeeping Manager.

This role will be based in their Bangor office and there is an early finish every Friday.

This is a key role within the firm, combining technical expertise, team leadership and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

Managing and supporting a small bookkeeping & VAT team
Preparing VAT returns for a portfolio of clients
Processing bookkeeping records where required
Reviewing VAT returns and bookkeeping prepared by team members
Ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely submission of all work
Identifying and implementing efficiencies and improved processes within the department
Supporting the wider team with bookkeeping and VAT queries
Maintaining strong relationships with clients

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in VAT and bookkeeping within a practice environment
Confident managing and developing a team
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Proactive, with a focus on improving systems and efficiencies
A strong communicator, both internally and with clients
Comfortable working to deadlines and managing workloads

Essential Criteria:

ATI qualification (or equivalent)
Experience using Xero
