HR Officer
Location: Multi-site role across Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland (office-based)
Hours: Full-time
Travel: Regular travel between company sites required. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle essential.
The Opportunity
Whytematter is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, multi-site organisation seeking an experienced HR Officer to join its HR team.
This key role is focused on supporting business success through effective people management, employee wellbeing, training and development, employee engagement, and performance management. Reporting to the Group HR Manager, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive HR support and guidance across a range of business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide HR advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters.
Support recruitment and retention initiatives across the business.
Manage and advise on disciplinary, grievance, attendance, and performance management processes.
Assist with employee engagement, wellbeing, and development programmes.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Support policy implementation and HR best practice.
Build strong relationships with managers, employees, and union representatives.
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures.
About You
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a generalist HR Officer role.
Third-level qualification in Human Resource Management, Business Studies, or a related discipline.
Strong working knowledge of both NI and ROI employment legislation.
Experience advising managers on employee relations, recruitment, performance management, attendance management, disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Experience working with Trade Unions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong IT skills, including experience using HR and time management systems.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confident, professional, and approachable communication style.
CIPD Level 5 qualified with current CIPD membership.
Desirable
Experience supporting multiple business locations.
Previous experience within an FMCG or fast-paced operational environment.
