Role Overview
Our client is a well-established logistics and supply chain organisation operating across the UK and Ireland, supporting a wide range of industry sectors. They are now seeking a QSHE Advisor to support and maintain high standards across Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental compliance throughout the business.
Reporting to the QSHE Manager, this role provides advisory support to directors, managers, and employees, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and internal procedures. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly organised, and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and manage competing priorities effectively.
This position requires strong knowledge of QSHE management systems, along with excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Support the QSHE Manager, group companies, and departments in the creation, review, and maintenance of QSHE documentation, including policies, operating procedures, safety procedures, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and environmental aspects and impacts.
Conduct QSHE audits, prepare detailed audit reports, and recommend improvements to strengthen compliance and best practice.
Organise and deliver QSHE induction programmes for new and existing employees.
Identify, assess, and evaluate potential hazards and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
Assist in the delivery of QSHE, security, and product safety awareness programmes through internal campaigns and initiatives.
Respond to QSHE-related enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and safety concerns to establish root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Collaborate with departments across the business to promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Carry out random spot checks across group operations.
Travel to group locations and customer sites across Great Britain and Ireland as required.
Essential Criteria
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar QSHE, HSEQ, or SHEQ role.
Experience working to recognised ISO standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Strong working knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practice.
NEBOSH Certificate, Environmental Health degree, or equivalent qualification.
Desirable Criteria
ISO Internal Auditor qualification.
Knowledge of BRC Global Standards or food safety standards.
Candidates who are actively working towards, or willing to work towards, the above desirable qualifications will also be considered.
