Location: On-site at Ballynure Head Office (with travel across GB & Ireland)

Role Overview
Our client is a well-established logistics and supply chain organisation operating across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth and a strong focus on governance and compliance, they are seeking a Health & Safety Auditor / Advisor to support and strengthen health and safety assurance across the business.
Reporting to the QSHE Manager, this role will have a primary focus on auditing, monitoring, and compliance, ensuring that health and safety management systems, procedures, and site practices meet legislative and ISO standards. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams, managers, and directors, providing independent assurance, practical advice, and clear recommendations to drive continual improvement.
This is a highly visible role requiring strong audit capability, attention to detail, and confidence in engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Auditing & Compliance
Plan, conduct, and report on health and safety audits across group operations, ensuring compliance with legislation, internal standards, and ISO requirements.
Prepare detailed audit reports, highlighting findings, trends, and risk areas, and provide clear, practical recommendations for improvement.
Carry out spot checks, inspections, and site assessments to verify ongoing compliance and safe working practices.
Monitor corrective and preventative actions arising from audits and inspections, ensuring timely closure and effectiveness.
Advisory & Risk Management
Provide a professional health and safety advisory service to managers and staff, supporting compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Support the review and development of health and safety documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and COSHH assessments.
Identify and evaluate hazards, assess risk exposure, and support the implementation of robust risk control measures.
Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and safety concerns to identify root causes and support the implementation of corrective actions.
Training, Awareness & Continuous Improvement
Organise and deliver health and safety inductions and support ongoing awareness initiatives across the business.
Assist in the delivery of health and safety campaigns and improvement programmes to promote a strong safety culture.
Work collaboratively with operational teams to embed best practice and drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Essential Criteria
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a health and safety, HSEQ, or auditing-focused role.
Demonstrable experience conducting health and safety audits or inspections.
Experience working to ISO standards, particularly ISO 45001, with awareness of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Strong working knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practice.
NEBOSH Certificate, Environmental Health degree, or equivalent qualification.
Desirable Criteria
ISO Internal Auditor qualification.
Experience auditing within logistics, warehousing, transport, or similar operational environments.
Knowledge of BRC Global Standards or food safety standards.
Candidates actively working towards relevant auditing or health and safety qualifications will also be considered.
