Whytematter Staffing Solutions are proud to be supporting our client, an established and growing business, in their search for a Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone actively studying towards their ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification who is seeking to build a career within a progressive finance function.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department. This role offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of finance activities, working closely with senior finance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Accounting:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts

• Support year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors

• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger

• Assist in VAT returns, tax computations, and statutory compliance

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Support the preparation of budget reports and financial forecasts

• Monitor actual vs. budget performance and provide variance analysis

• Assist in cash flow forecasting to optimize financial planning

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

• Process invoices, payments, and expenses

• Ensure timely reconciliation of supplier and customer accounts

• Assist in improving credit control and cash collection processes

Process Improvement & Compliance:

• Support the automation of financial processes to improve efficiency

• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, tax laws, and company policies

• Contribute to internal controls and risk management procedures

The Person:

Education & Qualifications:

• Part-qualified in ACCA / CIMA / ACA (actively studying)

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

Skills & Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar finance role (experience in a SaaS environment is desirable but not essential)

• Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting principles

• Proficient in Excel; experience with Xero is desirable

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
