This client in most recent years has been hitting record highs and are now looking for a Head of Sales to hit new levels, drive the sales performance team and continue to make this company great!
The company has 24 full-time staff and a variety of established marketing channels. They pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and tailored insurance solutions to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Sales to lead our sales team and drive the growth of the companys insurance products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance sales, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for customer service.
Key Responsibilities are:
- Sales Leadership: Lead, inspire, and grow the sales department. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales revenue/volume targets for car, van, home, and commercial lines insurance.
- Sales Targets: working with the Managing Director, set sales targets, budgets, and incentive structures.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to enhance performance and achieve individual and team goals. Identify inefficiencies and improve operational processes.
- Regulation: Ensure compliance with FCA and other relevant regulations.
- Client Relationship Management: Ensure the team builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention.
- Marketing: Demonstrates a solid understanding of how marketing activities support business operations within the insurance sector. Able to coordinate with marketing teams to ensure campaigns align with brokerage goals, regulatory standards, and customer engagement strategies. Supports brand consistency, local market initiatives, and client communications through collaboration with both internal teams and external partners. Maintains awareness of compliance requirements and contributes to the effective delivery of promotional activities that drive growth and retention.
- Market Analysis: Working with senior management, analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for business growth.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to sales team members to enhance their product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Reporting: Reporting to the Managing Director, monitoring sales performance, and preparing regular reports for senior management detailing sales achievements and areas for improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Managing Director / Senior Management on growth planning. Work with other key stakeholders to deliver company-wide projects.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years in sales leadership, preferably in insurance or financial services.
- Track record of building high-performing sales teams.
- Deep understanding of insurance brokerage operations and products.
- Strategic thinker with commercial acumen.
- IT literacy with software houses (ideally Open GI) but not essential.
- Strong leadership, planning, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., ACII, CII) are preferred but not mandatory.
