Business Development Lead
Whytematter are excited to be recruiting an experienced Business Development lead for out client who are a leading provider of Mechanical and Electrical Installation, property maintenance and energy solutions. This company has been in operation from 2017 and has around 130 employees. This role will be operating from the Belfast office, but with some requirements to travel (including meeting customers throughout the UK and/or abroad and attendance at relevant sales events as necessary).
The position:
As Business Development Lead, you are responsible for:
- Relationship Building: Develop and nurture connections with brokers and buyers to drive successful land sales;
- New Lead generation: Conduct outbound calls, web-based and face to face meetings generating new leads for continuous pipeline management;
- Sales and Pipeline tracking: Work towards meetings Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support sales growth and report back pipeline status update;
- Collaborating with Estimating functions: closely estimating functions to determine the scope of projects, ability to submit an offer and key success factors to get awarded;
- Planning and Budgeting: Sales Strategy Development, full year budgeting and rolling forecasting.

- You have a passion for Sustainable Energy Solutions, M&E Construction and Facilities Management and with your experience and energetic attitude you can take customers along in your enthusiasm.
- You are proactive and like to take the lead.
- You have the drive to discover new markets as well as to identify new opportunities and you have profound experience in converting leads into wins.
- You are a team player, have strong communication skills, and a high level of persuasiveness.
- Together with the team, you strive to achieve common goals and make a great contribution to the growth and stability of our organisation.
The requirements:
- You are familiar with the UK & Ireland and already have a strong network of contacts,
- You have significant experience in account management, sales, or business development within the construction development and general contractors sector;
- You have demonstrable experience of achieving sales & growth targets in a similar business type,
- You have a good understanding of the construction industry, facilities management and clean energy space,
- You have experience working with a CRM system.
